Honorable Megan E. Goldish, Circuit Judge
Judge Megan Goldish, serving in the Domestic Violence Court, is not only a respected legal professional but also a vibrant community member and artist. Her achievements in the legal field are highlighted by the WBAI Mary Heftel Hooten Award in 2020 and the CBA Vanguard Award in 2021 from the Decalogue Society of Lawyers. Judge Goldish has played a pivotal role in the WBAI, chairing committees like the Government Lawyers, Mentoring, and Criminal Litigation Committees, and contributing to the Nominating and Annual Dinner Committees. She also shares her expertise through CLE programs, participating as a panelist and moderator.
Beyond her legal career, Judge Goldish is deeply involved in community and cultural activities. She is the immediate past president of the North Suburban Bar Association and the president-elect of the Decalogue Society. Her passion for community service shines through her leadership in the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind Junior Board and her board memberships with the Jewish Judges Association, the Lynn Sage Cancer Foundation, the Abolition Institute, the Illinois Holocaust Museum’s Women’s Leadership Committee, Bright Star Community Outreach, and the Trinity Irish Dance Company. Additionally, Judge Goldish nurtures her artistic side as a graduate of the Second City Conservatory, a performer with the Old Town School of Music’s Theater Ensemble, a guitar enthusiast, and a tennis player. She resides in the Chicago area with her husband Matthew, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard.
